Richard is a graduate of Western Washington University, where he majored in journalism and minored in Arabic. He likes to write about what matters in the world, and about how drugs and alcohol affect our society and its people.

In addition to writing, his interests include medieval history, downhill skiing, armchair mysticism, poetry, reading grammar books and computer programming.
