John still believes in a reasonable amount of anonymity when it comes to the topics of alcohol, drugs, addiction, and especially recovery. In fact, John still believes in privacy! And he suspects that others might also prefer that everybody doesn't know everything about them.
At age 17, sensing he was missing something, John volunteered at a local hospital. He checked off the "ER" and "nights" option boxes. John's real life journey started that day.
Today John looks back on a career in clinical research, tours of duty in Poison Control and suicide prevention, ten plus years in rehabilitation, stints in several emergency trauma centers, and too many complications related to alcoholism, drug addiction, depression, and mental illness.
