Beer Smuggled in Pepsi Cans

One truck was caught smuggling 48,000 cans of Heineken beer disguised as Pepsi into Saudi Arabia. How many get through every year?

People want their alcohol, and even in the strictest of strict alcohol-free countries, smugglers will abide. In this case, the smuggler got caught with 48,000 cans of Heineken beer disguised as Pepsi cans, in Suadi Arabia.

According to reports in the press, Saudi inspectors found the beverage truck was carrying beer during a routine inspection. The standard-looking cases of blue Pepsi cans were stacked into a typical beverage transport truck. Upon closer inspection, the cans appeared to be blue-plastic- wrapped beer cans.

A simple pocket knife investigation revealed the legitimate silver and green Heineken cans hiding underneath.
