Orlando Man Hides in Closed Wal-Mart, Gets the Good Vodka

Yes, Walmart sells “Ultra-Premium” Vodka, including Sean (Puffy) Combs brand Ciroc Vodka. Someone stole a lot of it this past weekend.

Orlando Police reporting included this gem, including just enough detail: the brand of Vodka.

According to WKMG Local 6’s coverage of Police activity for the community of Orlando, Florida, an as-yet unidentified man hid inside the Wal-Mart on Kirkman Road until it closed, and then stole a large quantity of CÎROC Vodka.

How much Vodka? According to the report, $5,000 worth.

CÎROC considers itself “Ultra Premium” Vodka, and claims it is “among the world’s finest”. It is co-owned and promoted by Sean Combs, formerly known as a rapper, music label founder and producer, and now a self-proclaimed “premium brand builder”. Combs has previously build such premium brands as “Sean John”, “Puff Daddy”, “Diddy”, “P. Diddy”, and is considered by many to be “the richest figure in Hip Hop”.

At the approximate street price of $30-$60 per bottle, that $5,000 is about 100 bottles which would be about 9 cases. That requires a pickup or other van for transport. If this thief went out an emergency exit in the wee hours of the morning, he had to have help and some sort of van or truck, plus time to load up.

If Wal-Mart decided to value that “ultra premium Vodka” at bottle service prices in the establishments typically selling expensive Sean Combs-promoted Vodka for $1000 per bottle, it may have been simply a case of CÎROC carried out the door and down the street.

Either way this caper doesn’t smell like Hobo Cologne. Someone wanted some resellable premium goods, and clearly some employee at Wal-Mart failed to make the proper security checks before closing the store.
