Cory Monteith Autopsy: “Mixed drug toxicity involving Heroin and Alcohol”

Update Tues 7/16: Early findings from coroner investigation say Cory Monteith died of “mixed drug toxicity involving heroin and alcohol”.

I happened to be passing the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, BC Saturday afternoon as paramedics were removing the body of ‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith. Overhearing a conversation between paramedics and police, I asked one of the officers what happened and was told, “Who knows? Young, healthy, no sign of foul play…”

Cory had a history of drug and alcohol problems. He openly talked about the fact that he had addiction problems in his late teens, and had been through rehab. According to reports, he had made every effort to clean up his act and get his life together. This past April, was in rehab again for a substance abuse problem.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday in Vancouver.
