Whitney Houston Dead at 48: Drugs Took Toll

Singer/actress Whitney Houston’s successful career masked her drug problems, and the toll drugs took on her personal life. AP is reporting Whitney Houston is dead at age 48. No cause has been reported at this time.

Celebrity gossip site TMZ says investigators believe Whitney died of a lethal mix of prescription drugs and alcohol, not drowning. Xanax was found at the scene. Whiteny was known to consume alcohol, including recently.

Whitney Houston struggled with drugs and alcohol throughout her career. Over many interviews with Oprah Winfrey, cocaine was admitted. Several times she confessed to struggling with crack cocaine, including her infamous “crack is whack” comment. The Whitney Houston life story runs the gamut of substance abuse and addiction, from success, touring, drug use, addiction, to isolation and several visits to rehab.

¬†Update: A day later, 18 year old Bobbi Kristina, Whitney Houston’s daughter, has been rushed to the hospital overcome with stress and anxiety. She is under suicide watch.

    Addiction took another star off the walk of life, I have so much HOPE that I will not follow in their footsteps! I am acknowledging that I have problems, I am doing something about them. I will always keep fighting for my life. God is in the fight with me. I will never forget where I have been, but I won’t live the lifestyle that I left behind. I want to survive, not to sucumb to the danger’s of Drug & Alcohol Abuse anymore!
